Hamilton OH Real Estate Overview
The city of Hamilton is in Butler County and part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Officially declared the "City of Sculpture" in 2000, Hamilton is seeking to revitalize itself through the arts. Founded by European Americans in 1791, the city was originally named Fort Hamilton in honor of Alexander Hamilton. It was located on the Great Miami River and intended as a military fort but was abandoned by 1800. Today, Hamilton is an important regional center of industry, business, culture and government. Centrally located between Cincinnati and Dayton, Hamilton offers residents small town charm with big city amenities. Served by the Hamilton City School District, the community has approved a $200 million capital program for the district. Some corners of the city are also served by Talawanda, Ross and New Miami School Districts.
